CROWNED LAUREL
MY STORY
Welcome to my corner of the digital realm! With a background in English, having earned my BA from the University of Guelph, I've embarked on a journey fueled by my profound passion for the written word. My literary exploration has been heavily influenced by remarkable authors such as Neil Gaiman, Pablo Neruda, Richard Wagamese, Tanya Tagaq, Madeline Miller, Frank McCourt, and N.K. Jemisin, whose works have not only sparked my imagination but have also served as guiding lights in my creative journey.
What distinguishes me is my unyielding love for storytelling. I view the world through the lens of a keen observer, constantly transforming the ordinary into something extraordinary, and the everyday into something magical.
My journey as a photographer has been a lifelong passion. With each click of the shutter, I strive to capture not just an image but the essence of a moment, infusing it with the magic of storytelling. My unique perspective on photography is to transform everyday scenes into extraordinary narratives. Whether it's the play of light and shadow, the candid smiles shared between loved ones, or the intricate details of nature, my aim is to freeze these fleeting moments in time and present them in a way that resonates with viewers on a deeply emotional level.

TRAINING
I have a background in writing and communication as a Bachelor of Arts English Major at the University of Guelph. I studied both modern and classic literature honing my technical writing skills while maintaining my love and appreciation for the poetry of language.
I received training as a Celebrant through the Celebrant Academy where I learned to write meaningful secular ceremonies, the power of ritual and how to properly support couples on their wedding journey.
I am registered with the Centre for Spiritual Living through the incomparable Barbara Schreiner-Trudel, who also trained me on ceremony writing and legalization of marriages in Ontario.
INCLUSIVITY
It is my aim to create a safe and open space for all those who wish to participate in the sacred act of ceremony. There is no place for hate, prejudice or discrimination in my practice. Who you are will be honoured and respected.
The region encompassing Guelph, Kitchener, Cambridge, and Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, is situated on the traditional lands of several indigenous peoples and tribes. These include the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois), Anishinaabe (Ojibwa), and Neutral Nations, among others, who have historically lived, hunted, and cultivated these lands for countless generations. We acknowledge and pay our respects to the enduring connection of these indigenous communities to this territory. Today, we continue to benefit from their stewardship of the land, and we express gratitude for their contributions to the vibrant tapestry of our local communities.
As a secular officiant, I am deeply committed to respecting and honoring diverse cultures and traditions. I do not engage in cultural appropriation and, specifically, do not use white sage in any of my ceremonies, as it is considered a closed practice in some indigenous cultures. My goal is to create inclusive and respectful ceremonies that celebrate your unique beliefs and backgrounds, fostering an atmosphere of unity and authenticity.
